Biswajit Nandy
I am a co-founder of Solana Networks and currently focus on the architecture and technology aspect of the flagship product. Prior to that I have worked for telecommunications giant Nortel Networks and high profile startup companies like Tropic Networks and Belair Networks. I am also affiliated with Systems and Computer Engineering Department at Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada as Adjunct Research Professor.
During 15 years in the telecommunication industry, I have primarily worked in the area of IP networking. My work is focused on IP-QoS, Routing protocols, MPLS signaling and WLAN performance. I hold 10 granted US patents from various research work done during my work at Nortel and Tropic Networks. I have authored and presented over 25 research papers in International conferences. I have participated in various Work Groups in the organization responsible for standardizing Internet protocols (IETF) and authored several IETF proposals in the form of Internet Drafts and RFCs
I obtained a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Waterloo, Canada. I had previously obtained an M.Tech in Electrical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur and a B.E. in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering from Jadavpur University, Calcutta.

I am affiliated with Department of Systems and Computer Engineering, Carleton University as Adjunct Research Professor since August 2001. I am a recipient of NSERC Research Grant for research on Routing Issues in Traffic Engineered IP Networks. Other areas of research interests are:

- Routing protocol issues in WLAN Networks
- QoS and Congestion Control in IP Networks
- Grid Computing
I have supervised several Master's students. I have also served on student thesis examination committees at Carleton University.
