Dec 11, 2014

Solana Networks is pleased to announce that it has entered into a partnership agreement with Chronos Medical Devices. The companies will work together to deploy and sell Solana's SmartHawk and SmartFlow products in Japanese hospitals, clinics and medical centres.

Solana Networks SmartHawk product provides powerful network discovery and network mapping capabilities for enterprise networks. In addition, it includes modules for network performance monitoring. SmartHawk is well suited for deployment in hospital network infrastructure which deploy networked medical devices. In such environments, SmartHawk can be used for a network assessment prior to deployment of new medical equipment. It can also be utilized to monitor and trouble-shoot network performance issues in the hospital environment.

The growing number of medical devices connected to the IT network include devices with cyber security vulnerabilities (for example insulin pumps). There are documented cases of vulnerabilities and threats for such devices. SmartFlow provides network security monitoring capabilities to detect cyber threats and attacks against such devices. It will also detect devices that are misbehaving on the network.

Solana and Chronos are very excited about the opportunity to work together to address a gap in the Japanese market place. With Chronos presence and expertise, Solana will have an extended reach to address the increasing client requests from the Japanese market place.

Solana has a growing customer base in the medical field including CHEO (Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario) - a premier children's hospital based in Ottawa, Canada.
